Joseph Road Development Contributions Plan
The VPA is working with Maribyrnong City Council to develop a contributions plan that will facilitate the delivery of local infrastructure to support new development in the Joseph Road precinct.
The precinct comprises 17 hectares of mostly vacant former industrial land located between the Maribyrnong River, Hopkins Street/Dynon Road and the Footscray railway line. The precinct has been rezoned to allow its redevelopment for approximately 4000 new residential dwellings, new retail and commercial premises, and an upgraded street network that will include pedestrian and cycling connections.
The Joseph Road Development Contributions Plan will prepare a contributions mechanism to enable the collection of funds or the delivery of in-kind works to assist with funding precinct upgrades in accordance with the area’s Public Realm Plan.
