The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – November 2022

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has been progressing the planning for Werribee Junction and Mambourin East by engaging with government agencies on our draft Threshold Assessment.

Prior to the formal commencement of the project, the VPA is undertaking targeted technical reports to understand the constraints and opportunities of the two precincts. The targeted technical reports have been used to inform a Threshold Assessment, which seeks to compare different potential scenarios for urban development.

A draft Threshold Assessment Report is currently being validated by relevant government agency partners. If the Threshold Assessment Report recommends that the project progress, the VPA will commence third party funding negotiations with landowners.

Since our last update in July, we have:

  • Collated comments from government agencies on the draft Threshold Assessment
  • Worked with government agencies to identify current and future transport projects within and near the precincts.

In the coming months we will be working with transport agencies to resolve transport issues that will impact the planning of the PSP.

We are aiming to finalise the Threshold Assessment for this project in early 2023.
