The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – October 2022

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has commenced planning for Bendigo Regional Employment Precinct (BREP). We are currently in the process of arranging landowner meetings and planning for agency and community group information sessions, and beginning work on Phase 1 technical assessments.

To kick off our work on the project, in the past few months we have:

  • Worked with the City of Greater Bendigo (Council) to plan for upcoming engagement events and scope phase 1 technical assessments.
  • Commenced Biodiversity Assessments, including targeted flora and fauna surveys.
  • Appointed technical experts to begin work on Historical Heritage, Land Capability, Sustainability and Utilities Assessments.
  • Begun procurement for technical work on Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, and Arboriculture Assessments.

In the coming months we will be focused on appointing technical experts for Phase 1 studies and undertaking landowner, agency and community group engagement events in preparation for upcoming Pitching Sessions.
