The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Update – May 2023

Since our last update in April 2023, the Victorian Planning Authority has made substantial progress on the Greater Avalon Employment Precinct project, and we are excited to share the latest developments with you.

We have been progressing planning for the precinct by analysing the findings of the recent engagement sessions and progressing technical studies.

Engagement sessions

We are preparing a summary report that will consolidate the feedback, outline a vision for the precinct, and inform of next steps that need to be taken by the VPA. We expect this report to be available in June via our website.

Technical Studies

We are also progressing technical work to provide further information regarding economics, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, historic cultural heritage, biodiversity, land capability, bushfire, landscape and visual assessments.

These studies, and the findings in the Vision and Purpose Summary Report, will inform a co-design workshop in mid-2023.
