Project Status Updates – July 2023
The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has progressed the planning for Casey Fields South and Devon Meadows by commencing the Agency Validation phase with a draft precinct structure plan in June.
Since our last update in April 2023, we have:
- Published the Casey Fields South & Devon Meadows PSP – Co-Design Summary – May 2023 (PDF)
- Continued working with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to plan the future transport network for the precincts.
- Progressed technical work to investigate and identify the issues and opportunities of the future transport network.
- Continued working with Melbourne Water on the requirements for the Drainage Services Scheme (DSS), and the implications for the precincts.
- Facilitated a briefing between landowners within the precincts and Melbourne Water on the DSS work completed to date.
- Met with the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) to continue to investigate areas of cultural significance.
- Met with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and Invest Victoria to investigate potential employment zonings for the Casey Fields South precinct.
- Met with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) to investigate sites for potential emergency services facilities.
- Finalised the technical report for high-level servicing.
- Continued work on the Aboriginal cultural heritage, biodiversity and bushfire assessments for the precincts.
In the coming months, we will be focused on reviewing the draft precinct structure plan with the City of Casey and our agency partners. As we work through Agency Validation, we will be considering council and agency feedback, and refining the draft precinct structure plan in preparation for public consultation.
