Futures Thinking with John Brumby

The VPA’s Futures Thinking events explore the large-scale issues and opportunities shaping our state. Our third event will feature the new Chancellor of La Trobe University and former Premier John Brumby AO, who will share his vision for the future of regional Victoria.

This event was originally planned for 14 June but has been rescheduled to 2 August.

In opposition and in government, Mr Brumby was a champion of regional development. He has immense experience in public life serving for more than 10 years as Treasurer and then Premier of Victoria, 6 years as Leader of the Victorian Opposition and seven years as Federal MHR for Bendigo during the period of the Hawke Government.

Mr Brumby’s speech will be followed by a panel discussion with:

  • Trevor Budge (Moderator)
  • Allison Leighton, Baw Baw Shire Council
  • Beth Jones, DJPR
  • Margaret O’Rourke, City of Greater Bendigo/Regional Cities Victoria
