Stuart Moseley announced as new CEO

Message from Jude Munro AO, Chair of Victorian Planning Authority

Dear colleague,

As you know, over the past few months the Board of the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has been working to secure the services of a new CEO who can lead our organisation as we focus on an expanded role in planning across Victoria.

As a result of an extensive executive search process I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Moseley as the CEO of the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA).

In a career spanning more than 30 years in both the public and private sectors, Mr Moseley has established a strong record of achievement in the development and delivery of significant planning services, urban renewal and strategies.

Mr Moseley is currently the Deputy Director General (Planning Group) for the Queensland Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, where he was responsible for delivering flagship reforms. This included the introduction of new planning legislation and a new regional plan for South East Queensland, concentrating on new land supply metrics and a new focus on affordable living and design quality.

His previous employment includes stints as the CEO of the Adelaide City Council and General Manager of Information and Strategy at the South Australian Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. He is a Registered Planner and a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and has previously served as National Vice President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).

A copy of the Minister’s press release about Mr Moseley’s appointment is available here.

I am thrilled that we have been able to secure the services of someone who understands the importance of creating and maintaining strong stakeholder and community relationships. Stuart also understands the importance of organisational improvement and delivering quality development opportunities and outcomes in both greenfield and renewal environments.

Mr Moseley will officially take on the role on Monday 19 June.

Until then, rest assured that the VPA will continue to work closely with our partners across the many precincts in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The announcement of our new CEO – together with our talented and hard-working Board and staff – augurs well for a bright future for the VPA.

Please contact our Acting CEO Steve Dunn on (03) 9651 9600 or via email: steve.dunn@vpa.vic.gov.au if you have any matters requiring attention.
