Project Status Updates
Project Status Updates – February 2024
On 7 December 2023, we released our Victorian Planning Authority Business Plan 2023-24. This plan outlines the projects and activities the VPA will undertake this financial year to deliver on the Victorian Government’s commitments and the priorities in Victoria’s Housing Statement – the decade ahead 2024-2034, which will deliver opportunities to increase housing supply and improve affordability outcomes for Victorians.
Kororoit (Part 2) PSP is a part of our Melbourne New Communities work program for 2023-24. It is a ‘Tier 3’ project, meaning work is being undertaken across government or with stakeholders to confirm readiness for the VPA to progress to plan preparation.
As of January 2024, we have completed the following work:
- Stakeholder agency meetings (2023)
- Landowner meetings (2022)
- Review of scope and project funding requirements
The following work is currently underway (either by the VPA or by others):
- Parks Victoria is preparing a master plan for Kororoit Creek Regional Park. This work commenced in December 2023.
The required next steps to progress this project to the commencement stage (which we are yet to commence) are confirming:
- drainage requirements with stakeholder agencies
- land use and reserved land requirements within the precinct
- requirements for the Kororoit Creek Regional Park
- studies from Kororoit Creek Part 1.
We will be in a position to consider progressing this project to the next stage when:
- the items above have been actioned
- funding to progress the project through to completion has been secured.
We review our work program regularly, including our ability to speed up the progress of projects.
We will update you as soon as possible when there are significant status changes for our planning for Kororoit (Part 2) PSP.
