Project Status Updates – November 2024
VPA Business Plan 2024-25
The Minister for Planning has approved the VPA Business Plan 2024-25, outlining our work program and priorities for this financial year.
The Ballarat North Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) is on the VPA work program for 2024-25.
This is a strong commitment from Government for the VPA to get on with our planning for Ballarat North, and to streamline and fast track the delivery of our plans where possible.
Update on our planning for the Ballarat North Precinct Structure Plan (PSP)
We have continued to progress planning for the Ballarat North PSP.
Since our last update in September 2024, we have:
- Published the co-design workshop summary report.
- Published several technical background documents, including the Extractive Industry Interest Area – Geological Prospectivity Report, Community Infrastructure and Open Space Needs Assessment and an updated Land Capability Assessment.
- Conducted site visits as part of a Cultural Values Assessment.
- Commenced technical studies on stormwater management (drainage) and additional utilities servicing investigations.
- Prepared a draft place based plan for the core area.
We have also begun engaging government stakeholders as part of the agency validation process.
In the coming months, we will continue to engage with government agencies on their feedback. We will also continue to finalise outstanding technical reports relating to transport, stormwater management and cultural values. This will help shape the draft Precinct Structure Plan and associated planning scheme amendment documents in preparation for public consultation in 2025.
