Project Status Updates

Project Status Update – May 2025

We have continued to work with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to plan for future development of the NFP and its surrounding areas while supporting the delivery of the Beveridge Interstate Freight Terminal (BIFT).

We have continued planning for the precinct by progressing background studies and technical assessments including drainage, economic, cultural heritage and arboriculture studies. These background studies and assessments will lay the groundwork for a high-level precinct plan and infrastructure delivery plan for the NFP. It will also help to identify key opportunities and constraints within the precinct.

Since our last update in March, we have:

  • Collaborated with DTP to provide planning services and guidance for the future development of the NFP and its surrounding areas while supporting the delivery of the BIFT.
  • Progressed the technical assessments for the drainage, economic and arboriculture studies.
  • Progressed scoping and procurement for further background studies including land capability and transport assessments.

In the months ahead, we will continue to work with City of Whittlesea, Mitchell Shire and key state government agencies to progress the technical studies and preparation of a vision for the Northern Freight Precinct’s development. This will be in preparation for agency validation and stakeholder consultation.
