Just Announced – $14.3 Million Invested in Broadmeadows

The Andrews Labor Government has announced a $14.3 million package to revitalise the heart of Broadmeadows. By helping fund the reuse of Broadmeadows Town Hall as a jobs and community hub and improving local amenity there is a huge boost to the Greater Broadmeadows area.

The $14.3 million includes:

$7 million towards the $20.2 million refurbishment of the Broadmeadows Town Hall. This shovel ready project will transform this historic building creating space for professional offices, start-ups and community uses. The adaptive re-use of Broadmeadows Town Hall will act as a major catalyst for growth in the Broadmeadows Metropolitan Activity Centre.

$4 million to improve the access and amenity of Broadmeadows Railway Station by investing in a new station northern entrance, concourse and toilets, and partial pedestrian subway upgrade.

$1 million towards making Broadmeadows greener with a new boulevard along Pascoe Vale Road defined by street tree planting and improved crossings, and a further $2.1 million to help complete Meadowlink – the 3.2km bicycle, pedestrian and open space link that connects the Moonee Ponds and Merlynston Creeks together via the existing town centre.
