Progressing East Werribee employment cluster

The Andrews Labor Government has granted Australian Education City a six-month exclusivity period from 15 August 2016 to 15 February 2017 in relation to the East Werribee Employment Precinct.

The announcement provides Australian Education City six months to progress its application to develop the precinct, which includes a range of educational, research, residential and commercial opportunities.

AEC’s proposal seeks to turn the 400-hectare site into a city that accommodates an international university precinct and a research and development hub.

The proposal also includes plans for retail, office, entertainment and residual uses, heritage park and botanic gardens.

The Labor Government has invested more than $70 million upgrading the roads in and around the East Werribee precinct to provide better access to jobs, services, schools and public transport in the area.
