Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – October 2022

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is in the final stages of consultation with the City of Greater Shepparton (Council) and State Government agencies on our planning for Shepparton South East PSP, and preparing for public consultation early next year.

It has taken longer than expected to identify and resolve issues from our agency engagement, which has extended our public consultation timing into November. With the State Government Election approaching, the Victorian Public Sector must follow caretaker conventions, which apply from 1 November until the election of a new Victorian Government. During this time the VPA must observe the conventions, meaning we are unable to undertake any public consultation in November.

As such, we now aim to release the draft plan to the community for consultation early in 2023.

Since our last update in June, we have:

  • Received and worked to resolve submissions on our draft plan from 17 government agencies.
  • Finalised technical reports for open space, noise and amenity impacts and land capability.

We have also published an updated Utility Servicing Assessment, which can be found in the Supporting Documentation tab below.

In the coming months we will be focused on resolving outstanding agency submissions in preparation for exhibition of the PSP package early next year.
