Project Status Update – March 2025

The VPA Business Plan 2024-25 includes the Merrimu Precinct Structure Plan as one of its key projects, supporting the delivery of new Victorian Government initiatives aimed at delivering more homes for Victorians. Since releasing our Business Plan, we have been working with Moorabool Shire Council and our Government partners to revise the project scope in preparation for its recommencement.  

Since our last update in January, we have: 

• Commenced updates to the following technical reports: 
  • Land Capability Assessment  
  • Biodiversity Assessment  
  • Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment  
• Commenced preparation of the following technical reports: 
  • Integrated Transport Assessment  
  • Community Infrastructure Needs Assessment  
• Commenced drafting the Planning Scheme Amendment for State Agency and Council consultation.  
• Continued to meet with landowners to discuss project matters affecting their properties.  

Our next focus is to finalise outstanding technical reports and preparing draft documentation for agency and Council consultation.
