The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – March 2023

We have been progressing the planning for the Bendigo Regional Employment Precinct by completing the pitching process with our key project partners and stakeholders.

Since our last update in October 2022, we have held pitching sessions with 14 stakeholders including the City of Greater Bendigo, government agencies, community groups, landowners and Traditional Owner groups. You can learn about the results of these sessions in the Pitching Summary Report, which is available in the ‘Documents’ tab below.

Since October, we have also:

  • Appointed technical experts to prepare phase 1 technical assessments, including Aboriginal cultural heritage, arboriculture, and landscape and visual impact.
  • Progressed technical studies on historical heritage, utilities, land capability, sustainability and biodiversity.

In the coming months we will be focusing on finalising phase 1 technical assessments and preparing for our vision and purpose workshop, which is anticipated for late March.
