Project Status Updates – July 2023

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) is in the final stages of preparing the draft Shepparton South East Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) for public consultation.   

Since our last update in May 2023, we have:  

• Continued to work closely with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to resolve road and traffic issues e.g. the final design of the Channel Road and Poplar Avenue intersection with Doyles Road, and 
• Started preparing public consultation materials with council.   

Public consultation timing

According to our previous timeframes, we were expecting to go to public consultation mid-2023. This has now been delayed.   

The VPA continues to brief across Government on our work program, including our planning for Shepparton South East PSP. This process takes time, and we are working hard to minimise any impacts on the timing of this project.   

The VPA continues to work closely with DTP upon the final resolution of the design and implementation for the Channel Road and Poplar Avenue intersection with Doyles Road. Once this is complete the VPA will brief the Minister for Planning upon outcomes, prior to commencing public consultation.  

We continue to work towards release of the draft amendment package for exhibition in the second half of 2023.  

We appreciate your patience while we work with our Government partners to confirm timeframes and next steps for the Shepparton South East PSP.

In the coming months we will continue to focus on finalising our documentation and briefing across Government. 

We will provide another update in September, or when timing for release of the draft amendment for public consultation is confirmed.
