Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – July 2023

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has been working with Melton City Council to progress the planning for the Kororoit Creek Part 2 PSP, which is in the pre-commencement phase.

At the end of June, the VPA undertook the latest regular quarterly review of its work program.  Quarterly reviews enable us to manage pressures on our program, respond to technical issues and achieve cross-Government policy alignment.

This quarter we also factored in the VPA’s revised funding envelope from 1 July following from the release of the State Budget on 23 May. The majority of our projects remain under active progression with minimal impact on timelines. However there a number of projects that are subject to technical issues that require resolution outside the VPA, present policy issues that are matters for Government to decide on or are impacted by our need to reprioritise our resources.

We will keep our stakeholders informed on the status of our work program which will continue to be updated each quarter or as directed by the Minister for Planning.

As always, we want to progress as much as we can as quickly as we can. But we need to be practical about what is not possible at the moment and prioritise allocation of our reduced resources accordingly.

From July, we are pausing Kororoit Creek Part 2 PSP due to:

  • Funding constraints, and
  • The need for alignment across Government.

We understand that stakeholders will be concerned at the changes to our timeframes and if we can assist in providing further clarity please contact Emily Hillebrand.

As is normal practice, we will continue to update you on the status of our work program in September 2023, or as directed by the Minister for Planning.
