Latrobe Valley ‘Unblocking Infrastructure Barriers’ Project

Latrobe Valley ‘Unblocking Infrastructure Barriers’ Project

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) supported projects in the Latrobe Valley through the Unblocking Infrastructure Barriers project with a focus on improving approaches to infrastructure delivery and to improve subdivision and permit approval processes in growth areas.

The VPA worked with Baw Baw, Latrobe and Wellington councils and staff from Regional Development Victoria, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, VicRoads and Gippsland Water to try to find solutions to barriers to the timely delivery of infrastructure that supports residential and employment land supply in the Latrobe Valley.

The Progress Report & Evaluation – March 2020 (PDF) outlines the work carried out by the VPA to unlock opportunities for urban growth in the Latrobe Valley. It also identifies strategic planning themes, lessons learned and future directions for strategic land use planning in the Latrobe Valley.
