The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA), formerly the Growth Areas Authority, prepared Truganina Precinct Structure Plan in consultation with Wyndham City Council, Government agencies and service authorities.
The Truganina Precinct Structure Plan will allow development of approximately 9,400 homes over the next 20 years. The plan describes the vision for Truganina and ensures the delivery of key local infrastructure to promote accessibility and community activity within the precinct.
Plans for the land covered by the Truganina Precinct Structure Plan will also include attractive open space, a major town centre, two local town centres, a new train station and potential additional train station on the Regional Rail Link, local parks, sporting reserves, road and servicing infrastructure. The plan includes creation of major retail and employment opportunities associated with the Tarneit Major Town Centre, and an employment precinct along Boundary Road for office, light industrial and commercial businesses.
The land affected by the amendment is bound by Leakes Road to the south, Derrimut Road to the west, Boundary Road to the north and Dohertys Creek to the east.
