VPA speaks at Metro Tunnel hearing

The VPA was pleased to speak at the Metro Tunnel environmental effects hearing today, telling panel members that a new train station in North Melbourne would spur the area’s development.

Strategic Planning Manager Kate Alder told the panel members that Arden Station would catalyse the development of a new commercial and residential precinct.

The precinct, to be known as ‘Arden’, will eventually be home to 15,000 residents and be a base for 34,000 jobs.

Ms Alder presented the panel with a copy of the Draft Arden Vision & Framework, now out for consultation, and said the tunnel was a crucial part of the area’s urban renewal.
