Key to reducing Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) preparation timeframes will be the increased focus on infrastructure planning requirements within the first 12 months of preparation. To achieve this the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) will:
- Ensure issues are identified early and clearly defined
- Focus on place-based planning and the vision and purpose of each new community
- Secure commitment to collaboration and co-design
- Enable participation in the planning process
- Provide timely and consistent advice throughout
- Seek agency endorsement of the plan prior to exhibition.
Resolving issues early the process through risk management and developing solutions pathways will make decision making more transparent and improve stakeholder consensus throughout the process.
