The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates

Project Status Update – May 2024

We have been working with the City of Greater Geelong to progress planning for the Greater Avalon Employment Precinct.

Since our last update in March 2024, we have:

  • Sought the views of key stakeholders on our co-design report to inform our draft place-based plan.
  • Progressed the flooding & drainage, sodic soils, cultural heritage impact, biodiversity and landscape & visual impact assessments.

In the coming months, we will focus on reviewing comments and meeting with stakeholders who have provided feedback on our draft placed-based plan. We will also progress technical work in preparation for council and state agency consultation in the third quarter of 2024.
