The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – March 2024

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has been working with Golden Plains Shire Council and stakeholders to progress key technical work for the Bannockburn South East Precinct, including drainage and transport modelling,

Since our last update in November 2023, we have:

  • Prepared responses to all submissions received as part of agency validation.
  • Progressed our plans and documentation to reflect the latest technical work and results of agency validation.
  • Met with council, landowners, the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the ongoing drafting of the PSP.
  • Begun technical work on soil testing and sampling to confirm the extent of dispersive and sodic soils in the precinct.
  • Undertaken a review of our project timelines and our work program to identify opportunities for streamlining timeframes.

In the coming months we will be focused on resolving key transport, cultural heritage and land use matters and finalising the draft PSP in preparation for public consultation in late 2024.
