Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – May 2025

Since our last update in March, we have progressed the planning for the Ballarat North PSP by:

  • Continuing to amend the draft PSP package to align with feedback from government agencies.
  • Preparing a draft drainage proof of concept. This document is now with agency stakeholders for review. Once the review is complete the concept will be uploaded to our website.
  • Continuing to progress the transport impact assessment and modelling.
  • Finalising site visits as part of the cultural values assessment.
  • Procuring a consultant to undertake our land valuation studies.

In addition, we have published:

  • Utilities Assessment Report (Stantec), March 2025.
  • Heritage citations for the five identified heritage places to be introduced to the Heritage Overlay in the Ballarat Planning Scheme as part of this amendment.

In the coming months, we will be focused on the continuing our technical studies in preparation for public consultation. This includes:

  • Preparing a Bushfire Management Report which will consider the high-level Bushfire Development Report and Risk Assessment prepared in July 2024.
  • Drainage functional designs and costings.
  • A Land Valuation Study.
  • Commencing our Native Vegetation Precinct Plan.

The City of Ballarat is continuing to monitor the historical landfill south of the precinct.
