The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – May 2023

We have been progressing the planning for the Bendigo Regional Employment Precinct by completing the vision and purpose phase with our key project partners and stakeholders.

Since our last update in March 2023, we have:

  • Held our vision and purpose workshop, which was attended by 40 participants, including the City of Greater Bendigo, government agencies, community groups, landowners and the Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners. The workshop summary report will be released mid-year on our website.
  • Progressed phase 1 technical assessments, including Aboriginal cultural heritage, arboriculture, landscape and visual impact, historical heritage, utilities, land capability, sustainability and biodiversity.

In the coming months we will be focusing on finalising phase 1 technical assessments, preparing the vision and purpose workshop summary document, and confirming timing for our co-design workshop.
