Derrimut Fields
The Derrimut Fields Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) is located in the City of Melton. It includes land bounded by Christies Road to the east, Boundary Road to the south, Hopkins Road to the west and Middle Road to the north. With Skeleton Creek running north to south through the precinct.
To address the need for employment land in Melbourne’s west, the State Government is unlocking land in the Derrimut Fields PSP area. Making more land available for industrial development will give a much-needed boost to industrial real estate in the area.
The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) as part of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has begun the pre-commencement phase for the Derrimut Fields PSP and is now seeking for Expression of Interest (EOI) from landowners to provide Third Party Funding (TPF) for this project.
Project Status Update – June 2026
We have continued to progress planning for the Derrimut Fields PSP by finalising the pitching report and drafting the Vision and Purpose statements. All technical studies are now underway.
Since our last update in April 2026, we have:
- Finalised procurement of consultants and all technical studies are now underway.
- Received the final Historic Heritage Report and finalised the pitching report, both of which can be found on the project website.
- Received feedback on the draft Vision and Purpose Statement and commenced drafting the final statement.
In the coming months, we will continue to progress technical studies and finalise the Vision and Purpose statement.
