Project Status Update – April 2026

Since our last update in February 2026, we have reviewed and responded to the 57 submissions received during the public consultation period which ran from 13 November to 11 December 2025. 

The Standing Advisory Committee (SAC) process has recently commenced. 

The SAC is an independent committee appointed to provide recommendations to the project team on how to address key issues. The matters the SAC will provide advice relating to:  

  • Flooding, drainage and integrated water management 
  • Biodiversity 
  • Planning ordinance matters 

The SAC process is conducted in two parts: 

  • Directions Hearing – The Hearing was held on 18 March 2026 which set the timetable and procedures for the main hearing. 
  • SAC Hearing – The Committee is scheduled to convene on 28 April 2026. This hearing will allow submitters to present their views to the Committee.  

If you made a submission during the public consultation period, you would have received correspondence from Planning Panels Victoria (PPV) explaining the process and your participation options.
