Project Status Update – May 2026

Since our last update in December 2025, public consultation on the draft amendment, which ran from 1 December 2025 through to 13 February 2026, has concluded. In total, 26 submissions were received.

The VPA Standing Advisory Committee (SAC) is an independent committee appointed to provide recommendations to the project team on how to address key issues. The BREP hearing is scheduled to commence in Bendigo on 19 May 2026. We are referring a range of issues to the SAC including infrastructure, amenity and industrial requirements.

If you made a submission during the public consultation period, you would have received correspondence from Planning Panels Victoria (PPV) explaining the process and your participation options.
