Here are the VPA Hiring Process Steps

Self-reflection – it is often an over-looked step; however, it is important for you to focus on you and think about the skills, experience and qualities you can bring to the role. Here are some questions you can ponder:

  • What impact and difference would you like to make?
  • What and how can VPA contribute to my professional growth?
  • Do the VPA values align with my personal values?

Preparation – VPA could be a new beginning for you so why not refresh your resume. Update your experience to align with the role you are interested in and make the resume content concise. If the role requires it, draft a cover letter and or key selection criteria (KSC) ensuring you respond and address any specific questions that are required. Remember quality, not quantity.

Application – submit your application online through the applicable channels for the role. Our Selection team will review your application for suitability for the role.

Short-listing – Our recruitment and selection decisions are based on merit.

If our Selection team believe you might be a match for the role, you’ll enter our selection process. The Human Resources team will make contact with you and advise of the next steps.

If you are not successful, you will be contacted via email.

Assessment – Depending on the type of role and team, you will be invited to participate in an assessment activity such as a behaviour interview, online assessments, small scale project work to help us understand you – your skills, capabilities, experiences and interests.

Evaluation and decision – at this stage we will pull together all the assessment pieces and evaluate. If you are the preferred candidate, we will contact two of your referees to substantiate our evaluation, which an offer of employment will ensue if satisfactory. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified and provided feedback to support their professional growth.

Personal information – We collect personal information for the purposes of processing and considering your application for employment. We will use the information we collect from you only for these purposes and will not disclose any personal information contained in your application to nominated referees in order to verify statements contained in your application.
