Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – May 2024

We have been working with Warrnambool City Council to progress the East of Aberline precinct structure plan (PSP). Recently, we met with some landowners in Warrnambool to discuss the project and next steps. Thank you to those who attended and participated in this discussion.

Technical Assessments

Since our last update in March 2024, we have engaged technical experts to update the following assessments:

  • Drainage and integrated water management (IWM)
  • Utility servicing
  • Bushfire
  • Biodiversity
  • Landscape and visual impact
  • Cultural and post contact heritage

We are also in the process of engaging technical experts to prepare the following assessments:

  • Land capability
  • Adverse amenity impact
  • Economic and retail
  • Arboriculture
  • Traffic and transport

We are also preparing the following assessments in-house:

  • Community infrastructure
  • Social and affordable housing

Co-design Workshop

We are now preparing for our co-design workshop, which is scheduled for mid-2024. During the workshop, landowners, developers and agency stakeholders will be invited to assess a draft place-based plan against the preliminary technical findings and aspirations from the vision and purpose survey. The workshop aims to collaboratively work toward planning solutions while recognising a range of stakeholder perspectives.

Next Steps

In the coming months, we will continue to progress technical assessments which will form the basis of the draft place-based plan for the precinct.

We will also continue preparing for our co-design workshop, and will contact participants with more details closer to the date.
