Project Status Updates

Project Status Updates – July 2023

Since our last update in May 2023, the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has continued to progress the project.

Pitching summary report

The VPA conducted pitching sessions with landowners and agency stakeholders in March, with sessions held both online and in-person in Warrnambool. These sessions offered the project team an excellent insight into the perspectives of various stakeholders, including the key issues and aspirations for the precinct.

The information gathered has been refined into five key themes, explored through the Pitching Sessions Summary Report – June 2023 (PDF). The themes included in this document will help guide the precinct planning process going forward.

Vision and Purpose Survey

The VPA is progressing with the next engagement milestone for the project – Vision and Purpose. This stage aims to validate and further develop the themes drawn from pitching sessions and work toward an overarching vision for the precinct.

A Vision and Purpose Survey has been issued to all stakeholders, which provides the opportunity to provide feedback on key issues, themes and potential vision statements. We encourage landowners and government agency partners to complete the survey, with responses to be collated into the East of Aberline Vision and Purpose Summary Report.

Next steps

In the coming months the VPA will focus analysing the Vision and Purpose Survey responses and publishing the Vision and Purpose summary document.

We are also working on updating the technical documents to ensure they align with the emerging aspirations and goals of the community.
