The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – March 2023

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) has been working with Mitchell Shire Council to progress the planning for Wallan South by finalising technical studies and responding to feedback we’ve received from government agencies.

We have also been preparing the draft Wallan South Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) and Supplementary Levy Infrastructure Contributions Plan (ICP) for public consultation.

Since our last update in November 2022, we have:

  • Finalised and published the bushfire report
  • Finalised the transport report (publication expected early March)
  • Finalised requirements and guidelines for the PSP
  • Commenced procurement of an affordable housing needs assessment
  • Progressed the drafting of the ICP documents.

In the coming months we will finalise the amendment package to prepare for public consultation to take place in 2023.
