Cardinia Creek South PSP (Part 2)

Cardinia Creek South Precinct Structure Plan (Part 2)

The Cardinia Creek South Precinct Structure Plan (formerly McPherson) was approved by the Minister for Planning in December 2018 and gazetted in January 2019 under Amendment C221 to the Casey Planning Scheme.  The Amendment excluded an area from the parent PSP as a result of Panel recommendation and uncertainty at that time about the location of the Clyde Regional Park.

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) will be preparing an amendment to the Casey Planning Scheme for the land within the Part 2 area of the Cardinia Creek South Precinct Structure Plan.

The VPA will prepare the amendment in consultation with the City of Casey, government agenciesservice authorities, and landowners.

The Part 2 area covers 104 hectares north of McCormacks Road, west of the Cardinia Creek South. The precinct will provide for a mix of residential, open space and drainage uses.

Project Status Updates – November 2023

On 20 September, the Victorian Government released Victoria’s Housing Statement: The decade ahead 2024-2034, in which it announced the Victorian Planning Authority will continue preparing Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs) for new housing and jobs in Melbourne and regional Victoria. We will conduct further work across 21 projects to deliver more than 60,000 homes and 60,000 jobs. These projects will deliver a sustainable supply of greenfield land, and more jobs close to home.

While Cardinia Creek South (Part 2) is not named in the Housing Statement, the project is active. We are undertaking further investigations which will determine the next steps for progression of the project.

We review our work program regularly, including our ability to speed up the progress of projects. We will update you as soon as possible when there are significant advances for Cardinia Creek South PSP (Part 2).

If you would like any further clarity on the status of our planning for Cardinia Creek South PSP (Part 2) please contact Paul Cassidy at Paul.Cassidy@vpa.vic.gov.au
