The Victorian Planning Authority proudly acknowledges Victoria’s Aboriginal community and their rich culture and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.

We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal people and communities to Victorian life and how this enriches us.

We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.

Project Status Updates – November 2023

On 20 September, the Victorian Government released Victoria’s Housing Statement: The decade ahead 2024-2034, in which it announced the Victorian Planning Authority will continue preparing Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs) for new housing and jobs in Melbourne and regional Victoria. We will conduct further work across 21 projects to deliver more than 60,000 homes and 60,000 jobs. These projects will deliver a sustainable supply of greenfield land, and more jobs close to home.

While Wallan South is not named in the Housing Statement, the project is active. Progress on Wallan South is dependent on the gazettal of the Beveridge North West PSP and ICP, to allow for a more aligned approach to planning for the northern corridor. We are working to progress the Beveridge North West PSP and ICP to gazettal, so we can then continue to progress the planning for Wallan South. We are also working closely with our partners across Government on northern corridor transport matters.

We review our work program regularly, including our ability to speed up the progress of projects. We will update you as soon as possible when there are significant advances for our planning for Wallan South.

If you would like any further clarity on the status of our planning for Wallan South PSP, please contact Tony Marks, Director – Metropolitan Melbourne North.
